Spyderco Military 2 - What you need to know
An evolution rather than a revolution, the Spyderco Military becomes Military 2, retaining its generous dimensions for a folding knife (14cm closed length, 10cm blade and 24.2cm open length) and adopting the Compression lock locking system of its younger sibling, the legendary Spyderco Para Military 2.
This system is in fact a liner lock whose release is not under the handle, as on the vast majority of knives using this safety system, but on the top of the handle. As a result, folding the blade is much simpler!
In this new version, which appeared in summer 2024, the Spyderco Military 2 relies on CPM Cru-Wear steel for its quoditian tasks. And it's adorned with brown canvas micarta inserts. Sound familiar? That's normal; it's the favorite pairing of the spider brand, which is starting to equip all its bestsellers with it, starting with the .... Spyderco Para Military 2, of course!
Feedback on this configuration, dubbed "CruCarta" in the land of Uncle Donald, has been very positive. The CruCarta version of the Military 2 could well be the one for you, if you don't already have this model in your collection!
