Designed as a compact and exceptionally lightweight EDC, the LionSteel Emmet brings together several of the Maniago-based manufacturer’s most interesting technologies in a knife measuring just 17.1 cm when open. This EM01A ES variant stands out for its Earth-coloured aluminium handle with a Hammertone finish, paired with a Stonewash blade made from CPM MagnaCut steel.

The handle construction utilises LionSteel’s SOLID® technology: rather than joining two conventional half-shells, the structure is milled from a solid block of aluminium. This one-piece design lends rigidity and simplicity to the whole, whilst ensuring the knife weighs just 65 gr.

The Hammertone finish gives the aluminium a distinctive, irregular texture. In this Earth finish with its natural tones, the Emmet takes on a warmer appearance than the black or green variants, whilst retaining a resolutely contemporary design.

Its 7.2 cm CPM MagnaCut blade features a Stonewash finish and a flat V-shaped grind. The use of MagnaCut steel gives this small pocket knife an excellent balance between edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance, making it perfectly suited as an EDC (Everyday Carry) knife for daily use.

The Frame Lock mechanism features a hardened steel insert at the contact point, whilst the pivot runs on ceramic ball bearings to ensure smooth operation despite the knife’s compact size.

LionSteel also includes its REF – Removable Flipper system. The flipper can be left in place for quick and intuitive opening, or removed using a T6 Torx screwdriver. A dedicated screw, supplied with the knife, then replaces the flipper, resulting in a sleeker profile.

A reversible steel clip completes the kit. Designed by Molletta and manufactured in Italy, the Emmet successfully combines compact dimensions, premium materials and a number of technical features usually found on significantly larger knives.

Tellknives Review

In our view, this Earth Hammertone finish lends the Emmet a particularly striking character. It softens its highly technical appearance without detracting from the modern feel of its SOLID® construction.

But the appeal of this model goes far beyond its aesthetics: weighing just 65 gr, with MagnaCut, ceramic bearings, a reinforced Frame Lock and a removable flipper, it offers a remarkable combination for such a compact folding knife. We particularly appreciate that LionSteel has sought to reduce its bulk without turning the Emmet into a minimalist knife or compromising on mechanical quality.

An excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-end Italian EDC knife, discreet in the pocket yet technically very sophisticated.
