Consists of 3 rods of 7.5cm in total, including the handle. The rods are 5cm long. The two silver rods are made of magnesium. When ignited, this material burns rapidly at a temperature of +5000 degrees. Use a knife to rub a small amount of magnesium into a pile (about the size of a small coin) right next to or on top of the tinder. The dark colored stem is Ferrocium. When scraped with a knife, this rod will produce a very hot spark (+1000 degrees). Apply the edge of the knife at a firm right angle along the length of the ferrocium rod to ignite the pile of magnesium shavings on the tinder. The 3 rods are crimped into a 2cm black machined aluminum tube. Includes 2 mounting screws to attach to most Kydex holsters.
