COLD STEEL knife - Master Tanto - Collection knife
VINTAGE & COLLECTOR
COLD STEEL MASTER TANTO
It is thanks to the Boss of Cold Steel, Lynn Thompson, that the Tanto became popular in the West.
In the 1980s, Cold Steel began offering several versions of the Tanto, which were then produced in Seki, Japan, and boasted exceptional quality.
The success was immediate, and the international distribution as well.
However, the high prices (totally justified considering the quality of the blades) restricted the number of knives in circulation.
Thereafter, the overall quality decreased and, although the production remained Japanese, the rarity and prestige were no longer there.
These very first pieces are therefore very sought after, especially when the condition is top!

our opinion :
The Tanto is the soul of COLD STEEL, and this model the one that started it all
If you were waiting for the opportunity to break the piggy bank to put a nice Master Tanto SAN MAI under the tree, it is now!
The passage of the brand in Chinese hands in 2021 can only increase the value of Vintages!
