SOG Knife -Trident 2 - Collector's knife
The second model to be produced by SOG from 1986 onwards, the S2 features the NAVY SEALS logo, a stainless steel blade and a handle made of black micarta washers, materials offering enhanced resistance to oxidation, for missions in all conditions.
This model is part of the first series, as evidenced by its Cordura sheath.
Technically :
Produced in Seki, Japan in the '80s
17cm blade in AUS-8 stainless steel, 7mm thick
Total length 27cm
Through tang construction, screwed to pommel
Stainless steel guard and pommel
Handle in black micarta washers, polished
Synthetic spacers (originally white, yellowed over time)
Original Cordura sheath with snap closure and belt loop
Knife condition 9/10
Perfect point and edge
Slight traces of oxidation (one near the hilt, two near the tip - as per photo)
Case condition 9/10
Rarity index 9.5/10
Supplied in a black nylon pouch with zip closure
Current rating 900/1000
Our opinion :
Less famous than its twin predecessor the SOG S1 (Vietnam commemorative), the S2 is rarer (!) and is also a "must have" for SOG collectors, or NAVY SEALS aficionados!
This example is in magnificent condition and at a very attractive price!
