Vintage & Collector
The Kershaw brand is a major player on the international cutlery scene, and has been for a long time.
In the 70s and 80s, the brand produced some very fine models in Seki, Japan, which guaranteed them exceptional quality.
This Vintage Kershaw 1050 folding field knife, part of a family with a similar design but with many variations (fixed, folding, and various sizes) benefits from this quality of construction, and first-rate materials.
With its mirror-finish blade, brass bolsters and plates, and polished black phenolic inserts, this knife is beautifully crafted.
The cutting edge is original and in superb condition, as is the brown leather sheath with snap fastener and belt loop.
Sold at the time as a "field knife", these models were often - and rightly - used, and it is rare to find them in this state of preservation.
Technically:

Our verdict: The Kershaw range, with its striking design by Hattori, is one of the great classics of world cutlery! It makes perfect sense to have one piece in a global collection, especially if it is in a magnificent state of preservation, as is the case here!
