We Knife Banter, a superbly accomplished EDC

For this article, I've decided to tell you about a model I'm very fond of, and which I have in two different versions. It's the We Knife Banter.

The first has green G10 inserts and an S35VN blade. It's a linerlock. In my opinion, this is a very nice little knife with a nickel finish. It opens and closes cleanly and smoothly. There's no play anywhere. Opening is via the thumb button, so there's no unsightly flipper to mar its line!

It's a knife that I'd describe as elegant folded and open. It has a very good ratio of edge length to overall length, which gives it a certain balance. The clip is very discreet, but note that it's not reversible. I'd say it's a discreet, all-purpose knife for everyday use.

The second model of this We Knife Banter is in purple micarta with a Wharncliffe-type blade also in S35VN.

There are a few minor differences with the previous model. The shape of the blade, of course: a few millimeters of cutting edge are lost, but the tip is very fine. The micarta inserts are rounded and without the small chamfer, giving a “rounder” grip.

The clip is the same, but this time it's reversible. There's no dummy piece to bridge the milling gap on the opposite insert.

In conclusion: the 2 models are very good, usable everywhere without being scary! Lightweight and rigid, yet discreet in the pocket. In short, for me, these two We Knife Banters are essential knives.

A little tip: A Banter II is coming out soon, with a fully ambidextrous axis lock and a reversible clip with a dummy part for the opposite insert. I might as well tell you that I'm in danger of cracking...
