The new Extrema Ratio AERO FX features a colour scheme that is particularly in keeping with the brand’s identity: Forest Green and Orange. With a more outdoor-oriented look than the blue version, it retains the very contemporary contrast intended for this new range of small, fixed-blade EDC knives designed for versatility.

Its Nitrogen steel blade is treated with the MIL-C-13924 bluing process, whilst the heavily perforated full-tang construction allows Extrema Ratio to keep the weight down despite the knife’s particularly robust design.

The Forest Green Anticorodal aluminium handle features an interchangeable orange insert. This design allows the appearance of the AERO FX to be customised whilst maintaining an extremely slim grip.

The set is completed by the ultra-slim Kydex sheath developed for the AERO FX and its various mounting accessories, allowing for multiple carrying configurations.

Tellknives review:
This Forest Green/Orange version of the AERO FX is probably the one that most naturally reflects the Extrema Ratio identity.

Green has a much more ‘outdoor’ feel than blue, whilst the small touch of orange provides just enough contrast to give the AERO FX its distinctive character.

Above all, we see what makes the concept so appealing: a fixed-blade knife that is genuinely compact and lightweight, yet without compromising on sturdiness. An 8.0 cm blade with a thickness of 4.8 mm, a full-tang construction and a claimed weight of just 92 g make for a rather unusual combination.

The AERO FX is therefore less a miniaturised version of an Extrema Ratio tactical knife than a genuine interpretation of the fixed-blade EDC as envisaged by the Italian brand: very flat, very easy to carry, customisable and built with a generous margin of robustness.
