In this Green / Old Black colourway, the Emmet probably has the most ‘rugged’ look of the aluminium versions. The Hammertone green handle contrasts with the patinated black blade whilst retaining the modern, compact character of this new EDC designed by Molletta and launched by LionSteel in 2026.

The 7.2 cm blade is made from CPM MagnaCut, a steel particularly well-suited to a pocket knife intended for everyday use. Its combination of corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention allows LionSteel to fit this small folding knife with a truly premium steel, rather than reserving MagnaCut for larger or more expensive models.

This variant is distinguished by its ‘Old Black’ finish, achieved through a combination of a black PVD coating and a stonewash treatment. The result is deliberately less uniform than a conventional black coating: the surface takes on a slightly weathered, industrial appearance that should also age well with regular use.

The green handle is machined from a single solid block of aluminium using LionSteel’s SOLID® technology. This monobloc design provides excellent structural rigidity whilst contributing to the Emmet’s remarkably low weight: just 65 gr. Its Hammertone finish creates a distinctive texture that immediately gives the knife its visual identity.

The mechanics are particularly well-crafted for an EDC of this size. The Frame Lock features a hardened steel insert to reinforce its contact surface, whilst the blade rotates on ceramic ball bearings to ensure smooth, precise operation.

LionSteel has also fitted the Emmet with its REF – Removable Flipper system. The flipper can be removed using a T6 Torx screwdriver and replaced with the screw supplied with the knife. This allows the user to choose between opening the knife with the flipper or transforming their Emmet into a knife with a more discreet and streamlined profile. The reversible steel clip completes this design, which is geared towards everyday carry.

Measuring 17.1 cm when open, with a 7.2 cm MagnaCut blade and weighing just 65 gr, the EM01A GB combines a sophisticated construction with dimensions that are particularly practical for everyday use.

Tellknives Review

The Green Hammertone / Old Black colour combination works particularly well on the Emmet. The green adds a subtle outdoor feel, whilst the Old Black blade gives it more character than the Green / Stonewash variant.

But what impresses us most about this new series is the balance between weight and build quality. To get a knife weighing just 65 gr, made in Italy and combining CPM MagnaCut steel, a one-piece SOLID® handle, a Frame Lock with a steel insert and ceramic bearings, is quite remarkable.

This version should particularly appeal to those looking for a compact, high-performance EDC but who want a finish that’s a little less conventional than the traditional black or grey.
