Weighing just 65 grams, with a CPM MagnaCut blade and a one-piece machined aluminium handle: the LionSteel Emmet EM01A GS proves that a small EDC knife can remain lightweight without compromising on design.
This variant combines the handle’s Hammertone Green finish with a Stonewash blade, giving the Emmet a more outdoor-oriented look than the black or Earth versions. Beneath this aesthetic difference lies, of course, the full technical architecture of the new Emmet 2026 designed by Molletta.
The 7.2 cm blade is made from CPM MagnaCut, a modern steel that is particularly versatile thanks to its balance of corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention. LionSteel has given it a flat grind and a Stonewash finish, well suited to a knife intended to accompany its owner on a daily basis.
The most striking feature, however, is the handle. LionSteel uses its SOLID® technology to machine the entire structure from a single solid block of aluminium. This monobloc construction eliminates the traditional assembly of two half-shells and gives the Emmet excellent rigidity despite its remarkably light weight.
The Hammertone finish creates a multitude of tiny raised patterns on the aluminium’s surface. Beyond its instantly recognisable appearance, it adds texture to the handle and enhances the character of this small Italian folding knife.
The Frame Lock features a hardened steel insert designed to reinforce the area where it contacts the blade heel. The pivot, meanwhile, runs on ceramic ball bearings, ensuring smooth and precise operation.
Another interesting feature is the REF – Removable Flipper system, which gives the owner a choice. The flipper can be used as normal or removed using a T6 Torx tool; LionSteel provides a screw to neatly seal the flipper’s slot, resulting in a knife with a cleaner profile.
The steel clip is reversible, complementing this model’s ambidextrous and everyday-carry design. Measuring 17.1 cm when open and weighing just 65 g, the Emmet is a truly compact EDC knife without making any significant compromises on materials or build quality.
Tellknives Review
Of the three aluminium Emmet models with Stonewash blades, this Green Hammertone variant is probably the one with the most outdoor-oriented character. The green colour works particularly well with the blade’s matt finish, whilst highlighting the handle’s distinctive texture.
Technically, the specifications remain particularly impressive: CPM MagnaCut steel, SOLID® construction, ceramic bearings, reinforced Frame Lock and a weight of just 65 gr. The removable flipper system is also a genuinely useful feature rather than merely a marketing gimmick, as it allows you to significantly alter the knife’s profile.
A compact EDC that perfectly illustrates LionSteel’s craftsmanship in Maniago, with a construction more sophisticated than its apparent simplicity would suggest.
