Within the Military 2 range, this version answers a fairly simple question: what should you choose when edge retention is the priority?

CPM S110V is renowned precisely for this. Its extremely high wear resistance means that sharpening sessions can be spaced out considerably compared to more conventional steels. There is a trade-off, however: this is certainly not the steel we would recommend first and foremost to someone who wants to sharpen their knife quickly using basic equipment.

But for the experienced user who knows exactly what they’re looking for, the S110V remains particularly appealing.

We also appreciate the way Spyderco visually distinguishes its different steel grades. The G-10 Dark Blue has become synonymous with the S110V, just as Cobalt Blue is associated with the SPY27. When several Military 2 models are lined up, this version leaves little doubt as to its identity.

And the Military 2’s format suits it particularly well: a long cutting edge, excellent ergonomics, a Compression Lock and a weight of just 124 gr despite its 24.2 cm open length.
