The S1 is a faithful replica of a combat knife specially ordered from Japan for an elite US unit during the Vietnam War.

Often imitated, never equalled, it is still in the SOG catalogue almost 40 years after its first appearance!
Today's versions are made of stainless steel and are industrially produced, unlike the first models, which were produced in Seki, Japan, by craftsmen in SK5 carbon steel.

Technically :
The SOG S1 was produced at SEKI from 1986 to 2005.
The indication on the case (EDM. WA.) tells us that this model was produced between 1990 and 1994.
