With the Roarlock Machete, Condor offers a relatively compact machete that prioritises cutting power whilst retaining dimensions that make it easy to carry on outdoor activities. Designed by Joe Flowers and launched in 2026, it incorporates several of the features that have made Condor’s cutting tools so successful: a simple construction, tried-and-tested carbon steel and ergonomics designed for intensive use.
Its 36.2 cm blade is made from 1075HC carbon steel, a grade particularly well-suited to this type of tool thanks to its good balance between strength, ease of sharpening and impact resistance. The convex grind further reinforces its suitability for sustained cutting tasks.
Condor applies an Etched Damascus finish, which creates a visual pattern reminiscent of Damascus steel whilst retaining a single-piece blade made from 1075HC steel. This is a point I would clarify in the product description: it is indeed an engraved decorative finish, and not a Damascus steel blade.
The full-tang construction runs the entire length of the high-strength polypropylene handle. With a blade thickness of 3 mm and a weight of 610 g, the Roarlock remains agile enough for brush-clearing tasks whilst retaining the inertia required for more forceful cuts.
The machete comes with a ballistic nylon sheath, suitable for carrying in the field. It is manufactured in El Salvador, as is the majority of Condor’s production.

We find the Roarlock particularly interesting due to its positioning between a traditional machete and a large camping knife. Its 36 cm blade remains compact enough to be manoeuvrable, but its 610 gr weight, convex grind and 1075HC carbon steel give it real cutting power.
We also appreciate the choice of the Etched Damascus finish: it lends an unusual character to a tool that is fundamentally designed for hard work. A new creation by Joe Flowers that perfectly embodies the Condor spirit.
