Born and raised in Southern California, Matt shared his summers between the beaches of Orange County and the mountains of Yosemite. It was there (in Yosemite), while fishing with his father, that he received his first pocket knife. Several years later, he discovered the world of custom knives and began designing and making handmade knives in his garage. Matt designed the KANSEPT Steller folding knife based on the design of the cutter.
