The Condor K-Night Bowie reimagines the iconic Bowie silhouette as a decidedly substantial and contemporary field knife. Designed by Jason Breeden, this large fixed-blade knife prioritises cutting power, robustness and a deliberately minimalist construction, designed for intensive use.

Its spectacular 28.9 cm blade is crafted from 1075 carbon steel, a material particularly well-suited to large knives intended for heavy-duty work thanks to its toughness and ease of maintenance and sharpening. Condor has given it a Blasted Satin finish, which is understated and low-reflective. The convex grind enhances the cutting edge whilst providing a particularly consistent geometry for powerful cuts and chopping.

The design draws on the fundamentals of the Bowie knife, with a long blade featuring an upturned tip, but in a much more tactical interpretation. The full-tang construction runs the entire length of the handle and contributes to the K-Night Bowie’s clear hard-use purpose.

The 15.2 cm handle is fitted with Micarta scales, a material perfectly suited to this type of knife due to its durability and the excellent grip it provides. The guard effectively protects the hand during demanding tasks.

The K-Night Bowie is clearly not the result of a desire to do things by halves.

With a blade length of nearly 29 cm, an overall length of 44 cm and a weight of around 740 gr, Condor has produced a Bowie knife that openly flirts with the territory of the small camp sabre. And that is precisely what makes it so appealing.

We find the choice of 1075 steel and the convex grind particularly apt. Rather than aiming for spectacular technical specifications with sophisticated steel, Condor has opted here for a tried-and-tested combination, suited to impacts and heavy-duty work. This is consistent with the brand’s philosophy and with the knife’s unusual dimensions.

Jason Breeden’s design also succeeds in retaining enough elements of the traditional Bowie knife for its lineage to be immediately recognisable, whilst giving it a much more modern and frankly tactical look.

An unmistakably impressive fixed-blade knife: substantial, simple, robust and designed for the job. Those seeking discretion will look elsewhere; for fans of large Condor knives, however, the K-Night Bowie should be hard to ignore.
