Military fixed-blade knife, La Grotte du Loup SOG Vietnam Replica combat knife with a forged carbon steel blade, brass guard and pommel, a stacked leather handle and a black leather sheath.
A French craftsman who is as inspired as he is talented, and who wishes to remain anonymous, “La Grotte du Loup” produces pieces inspired by the great military classics. All his pieces are full of character, a little rough around the edges, more robust than necessary, and exude passion!
All this from the depths of his cave!
Here is a military fixed-blade knife, featuring a forged carbon steel blade with a mirror finish, mounted with a through-tang and set with screws, on a handle made of stacked leather discs with a synthetic spacer, and a guard and pommel in solid brass with a polished finish.
The blade shape is directly inspired by the legendary knives of the MACV SOG, that elite American military unit which operated during the Vietnam War.
The result features the exact dimensions of those legendary military knives; the versions subsequently produced by SOG after the Vietnam War have larger blades!
The result of this craftsmanship is a serious, robust knife, with a design as faithful as possible to the historical originals.
