The Spyderco Military 2 SC36MPCW2 EDC pocket knife combines the new generation of its illustrious predecessor, the Spyderco Military, with one of Spyderco’s most intriguing material combinations: a CPM CRU-WEAR blade and a Brown Canvas Micarta handle. A configuration now popularly dubbed ‘CruCarta’ by fans of the brand.

The Military 2 retains the generous dimensions and excellent ergonomics that have made the Military’s reputation, but evolves its design around the Compression Lock. This iconic Spyderco locking system allows for particularly intuitive handling whilst keeping the fingers clear of the blade’s path when closing.

The Military 2 is already one of Spyderco’s most impressive large folding knives; this CruCarta version takes it a step further.

We particularly appreciate the harmonious combination of CPM CRU-WEAR and Canvas Micarta. Rather than seeking out materials that look spectacular on paper, Spyderco has opted here for two materials renowned for their practical qualities. CRU-WEAR provides toughness and wear resistance, whilst the Micarta offers a very natural grip and will gradually develop character.

This version also has a slightly more ‘old-school’ charm than the Military 2 models in G-10. The brown of the Canvas Micarta, the satin-finished blade and the patina that the handle will develop over time give the knife a personality particularly suited to those who buy a Spyderco to actually use it.
