Our story
A Swiss family story!
Since 2017, we've been working as a family in our small business. Over the years, we've recruited two employees and a fervent network of users and collectors, all of whom are considered "The Family"! Swiss values are very important to us; we try every day to serve our customers to the best of our ability, and to keep in mind how lucky we are to be able to do so. We've built this small company, little by little, thanks to you. To find out more...

FAQ
Don't panic! At Tellknives, we have access to over 70,000 references. We're sure to be able to find the knife you're looking for. Simply contact us via our contact form.
In Switzerland, some knives are considered weapons. Customers must therefore be very careful when making purchases. The Swiss Weapons Act governs the acquisition of weapons on Swiss territory, and we only offer knives in our catalog that are not considered weapons under the Swiss Weapons Act. Possession of the online models offered in our shop is entirely legal. The only condition applying to the purchase of cutlery from our shop is that you must be over 18.
Yes, all items available on tellknives.ch are not considered weapons in Switzerland. Anyone over 18 years of age can buy a knife online without applying for an acquisition permit (PAE).
Delivery times are 5 to 7 working days. However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that this delivery time may be longer. As cutlery is a highly regulated business, our imports are regularly subject to controls in accordance with the Law on Arms (LArm, 1997). These controls may slow down the delivery of orders to our customers.
Tellknives can advise and assist you in selling your collectible knives. We offer two types of service: consignment and complete collection buy-back. Find out more about Tellknives.
Beyond passion, a collection is also an investment. And certain knives and cutlers are more likely to give you a return on your investment when you resell them. Tellknives advises you and offers you the opportunity to buy for pleasure, while guaranteeing you a certain return on your investment. To find out more, read our article "A collection can be an investment".
We're also happy to answer any questions you may have on this subject. You can contact us via our contact form or by phone +41 22 344 11 10.
Knives considered to be weapons include the following:
- fixed knives with symmetrical blades between 5 and 30cm. This does not apply to folding knives with symmetrical blades.
- all butterfly knives.
- all automatic knives except those with a blade of less than 5cm and a total open length of less than 12cm.
The purchase of a knife not belonging to one of the categories below is not subject to a request for authorization in Switzerland, as it will not be considered a weapon.
Tellknives does not sell any knives requiring authorization.
Tellknives offers all kinds of engraving, from the simplest to the most complex. You'll find all the information you need on our Engravings page.
